Empowering New York City’s Next Wave of Transformational School Leaders

The New York City Charter Leader Fellowship supports visionary educational leaders as they design, open, and sustain new charter schools in neighborhoods marked by high poverty and few high-quality academic options.

Our approach features an intensive, three-year process as Fellows write charters (Phase 1), plan for opening (Phase 2), and launch their new schools (Phase 3). Along the way, Fellows are provided with one-on-one coaching, cohort development sessions , and community engagement and operations support.

The Charter Leader Fellowship leverages our team’s collective decades of experience founding, running, and supporting successful new schools. Rather than supplying a model for our Fellows to enact, the CLF supports entrepreneurial leaders in realizing their own visions for transformational new schools, helping our Fellows translate those visions into the systems and structures that allow new schools to thrive.

The SEN team provided invaluable support throughout the charter application and start up process. They were really my founding team before I had a founding team.
